Official rules
By entering, you agree to the rules below.
1. Sponsor
The #ShowMeTheJerky Photo Contest (the "Contest") is run by Matt-Hat Jerky (matthatjerky.com), located at the address listed at the bottom of this page ("Sponsor").
2. Who can enter
The Contest is open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Matt-Hat Jerky and members of their immediate families are not eligible. Void where prohibited.
3. Contest period
The Contest begins on October 2, 2026, and ends on October 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time. Entries received after this time will not be considered.
4. How to enter
Take a photo featuring Matt-Hat Jerky, then enter in one of three ways:
- Instagram: Post the photo publicly, include the hashtag #ShowMeTheJerky, and tag @matthatjerky.
- Facebook: Post the photo publicly, include the hashtag #ShowMeTheJerky, and tag the Matt-Hat Jerky page.
- Email: Send the photo to outreach@matthatjerky.com with your name and the best way to contact you.
Posts on private accounts or posts that are not shared publicly cannot be seen by Sponsor and will not be counted. If your account is private, please enter by email.
No purchase is necessary to enter. Any photo featuring a Matt-Hat Jerky product or its packaging is eligible, including product received as a gift or at an event.
5. Entry requirements
- Entries must be original photos taken by the entrant.
- Entries must feature a Matt-Hat Jerky product or its packaging.
- Entries must not contain content that is offensive, unlawful, or infringes on anyone else's rights, as determined by Sponsor.
- Anyone appearing in the photo must have given permission to be included. If a minor appears in the photo, the entrant must have permission from the minor's parent or legal guardian.
- Entrants may submit multiple entries, but each person may win only one prize.
6. Judging
Winners will be chosen by Matt-Hat Jerky based on creativity, photo quality, and how well the entry shows off the jerky. Judging will take place between November 1 and November 3, 2026. All decisions are final.
7. Prizes
- First Place: Five (5) 2oz bags of Matt-Hat Jerky, flavors of the winner's choice.
- Second Place: Three (3) 2oz bags of Matt-Hat Jerky, flavors of the winner's choice.
- Third Place: One (1) 2oz bag of Matt-Hat Jerky, flavor of the winner's choice.
Prize flavors are subject to availability. Prizes do not include variety packs or gift boxes. Prizes will be shipped free of charge to an address within the United States. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash, and no substitution is allowed except by Sponsor, who may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
8. Winner notification
Winners will be contacted by direct message or email within 3 days after judging ends. Winners must respond within 7 days of notification and provide a shipping address to claim their prize. If a winner does not respond in time, or cannot accept the prize, Sponsor may select an alternate winner. Winners will be announced during the first week of November 2026.
9. Use of photos
By entering, you grant Matt-Hat Jerky a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, edit, and share your photo in any media, including advertising, social media, email, and the Matt-Hat Jerky website, with or without credit and without payment to you. You confirm that you took the photo, that you have the right to grant this license, and that everyone appearing in the photo has agreed to be included.
10. General conditions
Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entry or entrant that violates these rules or attempts to interfere with the Contest. Sponsor is not responsible for entries that are lost, late, or not visible due to technical problems or account privacy settings. Sponsor may change, suspend, or cancel the Contest if it cannot run as planned. By entering, entrants agree to these Official Rules and to the decisions of Sponsor.
11. Platform disclaimer
This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram, Facebook, or Meta. By entering, entrants release Instagram, Facebook, and Meta from any liability related to the Contest.
