Carolina Reaper
The Carolina Reaper is officially the world's hottest pepper. The 2017 official Guinness World Record recording came in at 1,641,183 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). That's more than 450 times hotter than a standard Jalapeño pepper.
Habanero Pepper
The habanero pepper usually clocks in between 100,000–350,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). On the low end, that's more than 28 times hotter than a standard Jalapeño pepper. While not a spicy as the Carolina Reaper, don't let the habanero fool you. It's hot, real hot.
Cayenne Pepper
Cayenne peppers are much less spicy than the Carolina Reaper and habanero peppers, but still pack between 30,000 to 50,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). That's more than 8 times hotter than a standard Jalapeño pepper. These peppers pack a lot of flavor and make a great addition to this challenge.
